The beef noodle soup healed my inner child.

Though the brick-and-mortar space is small, containing only about 10 seats,  the wait for Chef Richard Ho’s intensely flavorful beef broth noodle soup is just the opposite. It’s long asf, so be prepared to wait. A childhood friend and I rang in the year with a full, comforting, authentic Taiwanese meal at Ho Foods, a mom and pop restaurant burrowed in a narrow side street in East Village. It’s so tucked away, I waited 15 minutes before receiving the apologetic message: “I’m so fucking lost”. But of course, we all know the hidden gems serve the tastiest food, and Ho’s Food is no exception.

We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, set for two ($65.00), which came with the following: 2 bowls of beef noodle soup, garlicky cucumbers, chili wontons, and a small Lu Rou (pork) rice. The cucumbers were refreshing (and borderline addictive), the pork rice was delish, but of course, the absolute star of the show were the piping hot bowls of savory, umami-packed, and tender beef noodle soup. The generous portions of the dinner set rendered us completely satisfied. Ho Foods is wholesome, nourishing, and the perfect place to stop by for a meal, especially on a chilly day. Look forward to a review of their breakfast food soon because I will absolutely be back soon.
